KRAFT PAPER

Kraft comes from the German word “strong”, and Kraft paper is just that!
Raw kraft is durable, tear resistant and brown in color thanks to the kraft pulp process. The surface of raw kraft paper is textured and porous allowing for high quality printing and finishing for a premium rustic look.
Ideal for creating durable wrapping Kraft paper and sturdy carton and rigid boxes, Kraft paper board is actually also available in a range of colors and shades making it extremely versatile for branded packaging solutions. White and Brown (30 gsm – 80 gsm) for packaging, Colored Kraft used for bags & boxes (40 gsm – 65 gsm) and other types of kraft paper between 24 gsm to 80 gsm for multi uses. Another Kraft paper types is MG and MF paper.

MG stands for Machine Glazed. This drying technique uses a very large (>5m) diameter steam-heated drying cylinder called an MG cylinder. The paper is wrapped almost all the way around the cylinder which both dries the paper and also polishes which smooth the surface.
MG papers are slightly stiffer than other papers which leads to excellent processing through converting equipment.
MF stands for Machine Finished. This drying technique uses a large number of smaller, steam-heated cylinders to dry the paper which is alternately wrapped one way and then the other way so that both sides of the paper receive the same finish.MG & MF paper grammages is between 25 gsm to 80 gsm.
